If you buy dog supplements online, check the jar tonight. Fi, of New York, is recalling two dog supplements because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The company announcement is dated September 3, 2026. The FDA published it on September 8, 2026. The FDA notice does not report confirmed illnesses. This is a precaution after an ingredient supplied to Fi’s manufacturer raised concern. The manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates.
Which products are recalled
Only these two lots are included. Match the lot number on the container. The product name alone is not enough.
- Fi Calming supplement for Dogs 180 g — Lot 26118 — UPC 8 50064 80011 1
- Fi 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs 180 g — Lot 26159 — UPC 8 50055 11168 4
These lots were sold directly to consumers and through Amazon and Chewy.com. Kew Gardens Animal Hospital did not sell these products. We are posting this so Queens pet owners who ordered online can check what they already have at home.
Why this matters for dogs and people
Salmonella can sicken the animal that eats the product. There is also a risk to people who handle the product, surfaces that touched it, or stool after the dog has ingested it. The risk is higher if hands are not washed after contact.
In dogs, watch for lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets only show a decreased appetite, fever, or abdominal pain. A dog that still looks reasonably well can shed Salmonella and expose other pets or people in the house.
In people, watch for nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. Anyone with those signs after contact with the product should contact their healthcare provider.
What to do tonight
If you have one of these lots
- Stop using the product immediately.
- Keep the container tightly sealed. Do not dump loose powder into the trash or down the sink.
- Throw the sealed container in the household trash.
- Wash the scoop, bowl, counter, and your hands with soap and water.
- If your dog already ate the product and looks off — even a little — call Kew Gardens Animal Hospital at 718-847-7387. Do not wait for it to pass.
